Stay Calm and Pull Over

First, be sure to move your Jeep a safe distance from the main road. Whatever you do, don’t drive more than a few feet on a flat tire. Just enough to safely move from the road will suffice. Driving on a flat tire can damage and warp your rims, causing expensive damage.

Check Your Air Pressure

Make sure you always have a tire pressure gauge on hand and check the tire pressure. Sometimes a “low tire pressure alert” can be a slow leak which can allow you to get to the Jeep dealership for service with no damage to your tire rims.

Change Your Tire

If you know how to do so, swap your flat tire with a spare. For your safety, remember to turn on your hazard lights, apply the parking brake, and apply wheel wedges behind the tires. After you’ve changed your tire, go directly to a service technician. Spare tires aren’t meant to drive at high speeds or for long distances.
